Person takes their 15-year-old senior cat to get microchipped, but a few hours later, somehow, the feline ends up removing his own chip: 'TBH I am a little impressed'

Some cats are intelligent on a different level. Every once in a while, they will do something that will just- shock you with how smart it is. Seriously, we're not kidding. We have seen cats solve puzzles that were actually meant for dogs. We have seen cats teach themselves how to use the toilet - the human toilet, that is. We have seen cats outsmart even us… in some of the funniest ways possible. 

It surprises us every time. When they put their minds to something, cats really can achiever everything that they want. Age is not an obstacle, not having opposable thumbs is not an obstacle. This senior cat who just got microchipped did not like having this new tracking device inside him, and so he decided that, against all odds, he is going to get rid of that chip. And he did it. Yup. Just like that. He put his mind to something, and somehow, without anyone noticing, he figured out how to get that thing out of him.

  • We… did not think that this was even possible. We're not sure who is going to be more surprised - you or the vet when you bring it back to them and tell them what happened. Respect to the kitty though. Didn't want the chip, took the chip out, defeated the odds. Respect.

    Real_Newt_7055 i'm wondering if it wasn't fully in in the first place i work at a shelter and we do microchips and sometimes they don't go in all the way and can fall out

    gexorcism OP I literally cant find any sort of entrance/exit wound so im wondering if they just....... injected it into his fur??????? plus the fact that its so clean and there was no like blod or anything? I've never seen this before Imfao

  • We would honestly not be surprised. With this level of skill, determination, and purrsistence, this cat would be the leader of a gang in a Disney movie. And we would equally fear him and want to pet him. The best combination.
